This policy explains how Learn Then Watch handles information when you prepare and study Chinese vocabulary from YouTube videos. It is a draft and should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before public launch.
Who operates the service
Learn Then Watch is operated by Andrew Vorobev in Russia. For privacy questions, email gromihornet@gmail.com.
Information you provide
When you use the service, you may provide a public YouTube video link, choose an HSK level, and answer vocabulary exercises. If you contact us, we also receive the information included in your message.
How the service uses information
We use a submitted video link to retrieve available public metadata and Chinese captions, select useful expressions, and run the learning flow. Videos without accessible captions may not work. We use exercise responses to show progress and continue your session.
Browser storage
Necessary local and session storage keeps your HSK choice, vocabulary progress, recent videos, unfinished learning state, product guidance status, and the one-time link passed from the landing page to the app. You can clear this information in your browser settings, but doing so may reset your progress.
Analytics choices
Yandex Metrica is loaded only after you choose “Allow analytics.” Webvisor is disabled. We send only coarse product events, such as completing onboarding or opening YouTube. We do not include submitted video links or IDs, HSK level, vocabulary, error text, or a Learn Then Watch user identifier in those events. Yandex may still process technical information such as device, browser, and network data under its own terms.
Service providers and storage
The service contacts YouTube-related services and our processing infrastructure to obtain public video information and available captions. Video analysis may be cached so the same public video does not need to be processed repeatedly. Information may be processed in countries different from yours.
Retention and your choices
Browser data remains until you clear it or the app removes a temporary item. Cached video analysis may be retained while it remains useful for operating the service. You may choose necessary storage only, clear browser data, or contact us to ask a privacy question.
Age requirement
The service is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly offer it to children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. The effective date at the top will be updated when a revised policy is published.
